Hidden getaway
This simple design made the most of few materials. The long wedge shaped garden meant that the path from the seating area directly outside the house to the new seating area at the end of the garden was always going to be a big feature. Angling the path from side to side meant that the view from both ends of the garden would be through the new planting and also meant that you had to interact more with the garden as you moved through it. The choice of reclaimed london stock bricks was a stark contrast to the contemporary house but made reference to the victorian house in the conservation area in which it lay. Structured plating with a combination of evergreen structure and softer grasses made for a beautiful green space all year round.
